The Australian publisher Hachette has put together a great video entitled ‘How Does a New Book Make You Feel’?  Please do yourself a favour, spend two minutes, and look at this brilliant video.  Congratulations to you all at Hachette.

We had such a good party last night. It was so good to see many of our regular customers, authors, lots of our book clubs ladies, and representatives from publishers who all came to share a glass of champagne, talk, and listen to Jim and Ian Cooper play their jazz violin and guitar for us.  What a great time it was.  And I forgot to thank two very important people for all their help over the last twenty years.  Our daughters Minna and Ellie have played an integral part in this business, with their unstinting help, their suggestions, their support and their love.  Without the two of them, we just couldn’t have done it.  And also thanks to their lovely husbands, Franck and Rich (yes, they were his parmesan biscuits).  We have got the best sons in law!  Another twenty years?  I’m not sure, but we’ll give it a go.

Yes, it’s hard to believe, but we’ve just had our twentieth anniversary.  At times I scratch my head and think where on earth has that time gone and at other times I cant think what on earth I’ve done apart from being here.  I started remembering authors I’ve discovered, books that have dazzled me, the customers we’ve met and those who have become friends.  We’ve seen publishers eager to swaller smaller publishers and then find themselves shrinking, we’ve met fabulous reps who visit me monthly to show me what’s going to be published, and we’ve had delightful people working with us.  So thank you to all of you.  You’ve made my life so full.
